Cleaver Cycles will be hosting Rick smith for a book signing this Saturday (6/13/09).

Yehuda Moon & the Kickstand Cyclery book signing with the author Rick Smith, Saturday, 13 June, 1-3 pm. Set in a bike shop, Rick’s daily strip came to our attention last year as the shop’s customers—and products, and staff—began more and more conspicuously to resemble ours.

Now, who's going to get me a copy, 'cause I'm gonna be working that day?

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll hopefully be peddling across town to get a copy myself. Should I ride my most utilitarian bike so as to otherwise avoid derision?

So did anyone else go to this? I picked up a some signed books for K'Tesh, who had other commitments on Saturday. I was surprised to find Rick looks a lot like Yehuda, with his long, scruffy blonde beard.

Rick was a really nice guy who I understand was to do the WNBR and planned to ride the 40-mile loop while he was in the city.

I was going to go, but forgot that I had my niece's graduation to attend in Eugene. So I sent a friend of mine to pick up a book for me. He also confirmed that Rick was a very nice down-to-earth guy. I wish I could have gone, but trust Rick will be back soon after getting a small taste of Oregon.
