Banks-Vernonia - 9/14/12
 

Just a heads up that the Banks/Vernonia trail is closed from now until 9/14/2012 at Buxton from mile 6-8 for a culvert update.

The workers will let you go through if the conditions allow but no guarantee as to usability on your return trip.

I met 3 riders (visitors?) who were let through in the morning and had to take a significant detour (US26/Timber rd.) to get back to Stub Stewart). Hwy 47 north just isn't an option for bike riders.

I trek'd up the northbound route route from Buxton but it turns gravel quickly and although a reasonable grade, it is a long way around.

I noticed that when I got home. The site doesn't neccessarily agree with the fliers at the trailheads though.
