I've been watching craigslist bike ads the last couple weeks. Occasionally, there's good deals. Ve-e-ery good deals. Like this one:

how is this a woman's bike?

Hey spif...did you notice that the front wheel is a smaller diameter than the rear wheel? That's one clue that this is, if not exclusively a 'woman's bike', a bike for person's that have relatively short torsos and arms. Georgeana Terry...back in the late 80's or 90's, I think, was a originator of bikes with WSD (women's specific design) bikes.

The front wheel is smaller so the bike's head tube can be brought closer to the seat tube, to accommodate people with torso and arms that are proportionately shorter than the same in average proportioned men
